Sydney born model Lara Bingle is all over the press at the moment. Having recently launched her reality TV show ‘Being Lara Bingle’ she has been getting a lot of publicity, but not all of it so positive.
Is it going to help or hinder her career?
Making a reality show is a brave move, especially for a lesser known model. It could seriously make or break her career.
There has been scandal over nude photos (both in the past and recently) a car accident in which she allegedly hit a motorcyclist & this week tweeting a picture of impoverished children smoking cigarettes with the caption “Poverty stricken but still cool as f—’’. Twitter fans were not impressed, and the backlash led to Lara taking it down.
One celebrity agent thinks her show is not good for her profile.
“We’ve pulled the curtains back on Lara and what you see is not pretty. It has exposed her and she’s no longer an enigma. We now know what drives her and that’s not a lot,” the leading agent, who asked not to be named, told The Sunday Telegraph.
She goes on to say “She’s not intelligent, she’s fumbling from one episode to the next and I think that would turn a lot of companies off. They’d think, ‘Well what are we aligning ourselves with? We’re aligning ourselves with someone who is a bogan’.”
This is a pretty damaging critique.
Having not showed up in court today over the car accident, she instead appeared on radio station Nova 969, where she read excerpts of the popular E L James’ erotic novel ’50 Shades of Grey’.
What do you think? Does Lara need Reputation Management? And will her career be affected negatively by recent events?
